Memorial Day Weekend

To begin, I'd like to say I totally failed in the picture department. Lance does have a few cute pictures of Lilah swinging on swings with papa, but other than that we didn't get nearly the number of pictures we should have. I think I was so concerned with Eden, her sleeping and eating in particular, that I just couldn't focus on the picture taking. We did take a short video of us by the campfire and all the kids, but I have no idea how to even get that on here. Regardless, we did have a good time. And it went surprisingly "well". "Well" compared to what we expected actually. So to the average Joe with no kids, you would have probably thought our first camping adventure with both girls went horribly horrible. But based on our fears and expectations, it went well. The girls slept fairly well and we didn't have to turn around early and come home. :) It was sunny almost the entire time - we got to sit out even and enjoy some of the sunshine. We walked to the water a few times, throwing rocks in the water, swinging on swings, and enjoying the beautiful surroundings with some great family. Lilah got to hang out in grandma and papa's trailer, which I think for all the kids is very exciting. When all the cousins arrived, it got very exciting. The kids all have so much fun playing with one another and Lilah had a blast. It was also her first time in her wagon (although the cousins raced with it, probably not meant to go at those speeds), and her first time joining in on the campfires. I think we usually did these when she was in bed and asleep, so she thought it was pretty great. The Wiley tradition is to have breakfast for Memorial day and then visit the cemetery where Darleen's family is buried, along with grandpa Wiley. It is always a special time with family and a great way to remember those that have passed. It was nice to see grandpa Wiley's gravestone again and remember him, talk about good memories and teach our girls that this day is a special one to remember those we love in heaven. My dear daddy/grampsy too.
