Girly Date Night
If you are wondering what this is, let me explain.
1. Girls (with the exception of Samson sleeping in the other room)
2. We eat way healthier (ie: Trader Joes Harvest Grains blend with artichoke hearts, olives, peppers, tomatoes; some bread; a salad; and lowfat brownies)
3. We drank wine while just sitting on the deck and chatting (see photo below)...for quite awhile
4. We concluded the evening with an episode of "Don't Be Tardy for the Wedding". Yep, we did. And you want to know what else? We both really, really liked it.
Thank goodness for my good friend Julie, and her love for yummy food, wine and reality tv.

Daddy Day
It was time again to celebrate the most wonderful daddy and hubby. He really is the very best dad, husband, friend, and Godly man. WE are blessed beyond belief. I know I don't tell Lance enough how thankful I am for him and grateful for his love, friendship, laughs, help, understanding, thoughtfulness, gentleness, and the way he leads our family in a manner that always gives glory to God.
And how did we celebrate him? Red Mill burgers and Molly Moons ice cream, of course. ;)
Slipping Slide
Granny got her this Dora "slipping slide" and Lilah had been asking daily to go outside and play on it. We have had only a handful of sunny days in June, so the answer has been no. But we happened to have a somewhat decent day (from the pictures you can tell it really wasn't nice enough for the "slipping slide") so we got out the slip and slide.
Daddy tried to show her how to use it, but I think it's a little hard to get the running and sliding part for a three year old. Didn't matter though. She loved just running and splashing on the slip and slide. Score for granny (again).
Tiny Treks Conclusion
Holding It
I was driving around today with the little ladies and thought about this. I am constantly holding in my pee. I think actually my muscles "down there" are pretty darn strong because I am always holding it. For one, I have two girls with me. One is in a carseat and one is mobile, curious but very slow. I am in and out of places very quickly (or try to be), so to stop with a carseat and toddler in a store is very challenging. And not to mention I usually have a stroller or cart with me as well. OR I have Eden in the ergo. I have actually went to the bathroom a few times with her in the ergo, but it's not fun and not at all easy. And probably not the most sanitary. So we almost always end our outings by coming home and my racing into the house to pee. I am hoping that Eden learns from this better than her sister did. Hold it and then race to the potty. :)

Praying More Often
This is my prayer for myself lately - to pray more! I pray before eating with Lilah and with Lance, and often times I pray for friends/family who I know are struggling, sick, sad, or need prayer. I am pretty good at stopping to pray for others and praying in the car, and talking to Lilah about prayer. However, I have been convicted that I often don't pray when I personally need Jesus the most. The times especially when I am frustrated with Lilah or other things in life. I am hoping that my conviction will allow me to stop and think and pray before reacting so quickly. I know it's a learned thing and takes practice, but I need to be better at this. And I want to be a good example for our children at doing this too before acting and reacting to situations. I am hoping putting it on the blog too will help me to be more aware and held accountable.
4 Month Old Cutie
Eden is 4 months old...already. How can it happen so very quickly?! I haven't had her 4 month appointment yet, but she is just growing like crazy. She turned from her back to her front once, giggled at me once (I was tickling her sides) and is scooching herself around by pushing off with her legs. No more leaving her on the changing pad for even a second alone! She smiles all the time and does this growling type sound a lot. She is starting to find her voice even more with some funny shrills. Her mat is a fun toy and the little toys that dangle down get grabbed and pulled on a lot now. She can sit in her bumbo seat, although if it's too long she gets pretty angry. She is round, snuggley, happy and so wonderful

Lilah the Photog
Mommy Date
Lilah has had plenty of daddy dates. And finally I thought we should have a mommy date. We never get time alone since Eden has come to this world, so she deserved some mama/Lilah time. We went to see The Very Hungry Caterpillar at the Seattle Children's Theater and get some dinner. Unfortunately, it was a little crazy and rushed. We ended up rushing to get there with all the Saturday Seattle traffic. And there was a concert that evening at Key Arena, and something else going on at Seattle Center. We ended up having dinner after with Lance and Eden because we didn't have time before the play as I had planned originally. Even though we had a fun time and we liked the show, I already called a do over. Better planning on my part for next time. And maybe something more up Lilah's alley - including ice cream. Or maybe that will be it. Getting ice cream. That is for sure her idea of a good date.
Memorial Day Weekend
To begin, I'd like to say I totally failed in the picture department. Lance does have a few cute pictures of Lilah swinging on swings with papa, but other than that we didn't get nearly the number of pictures we should have. I think I was so concerned with Eden, her sleeping and eating in particular, that I just couldn't focus on the picture taking. We did take a short video of us by the campfire and all the kids, but I have no idea how to even get that on here.
Regardless, we did have a good time. And it went surprisingly "well". "Well" compared to what we expected actually. So to the average Joe with no kids, you would have probably thought our first camping adventure with both girls went horribly horrible. But based on our fears and expectations, it went well. The girls slept fairly well and we didn't have to turn around early and come home. :)
It was sunny almost the entire time - we got to sit out even and enjoy some of the sunshine. We walked to the water a few times, throwing rocks in the water, swinging on swings, and enjoying the beautiful surroundings with some great family. Lilah got to hang out in grandma and papa's trailer, which I think for all the kids is very exciting. When all the cousins arrived, it got very exciting. The kids all have so much fun playing with one another and Lilah had a blast. It was also her first time in her wagon (although the cousins raced with it, probably not meant to go at those speeds), and her first time joining in on the campfires. I think we usually did these when she was in bed and asleep, so she thought it was pretty great.
The Wiley tradition is to have breakfast for Memorial day and then visit the cemetery where Darleen's family is buried, along with grandpa Wiley. It is always a special time with family and a great way to remember those that have passed. It was nice to see grandpa Wiley's gravestone again and remember him, talk about good memories and teach our girls that this day is a special one to remember those we love in heaven. My dear daddy/grampsy too.
