Granny's Birthday
Granny had her 36th birthday :) just last weekend and we celebrated with a dinner in the sun (no pictures...it was a little hectic with two little ones at dinner) and then cupcakes at granny's house. Her friend Ralph was in town from Indiana, so he joined in on the fun as well.
We got cupcakes and Lilah could hardly wait for granny to blow out her candles, so beat her to the punch. ;) And then ate every drop of frosting off her cupcake, but left most of the cake. So her mother's daughter. In more ways than just that she loves frosting. Sigh...
6 Month Old Sweetie!
I cannot believe that Eden is 6 months old. I guess all parents say that as the years go by. Before I know it I'll be saying, "I can't believe Lilah is 16 and Eden is 13!". Yikes. Actually that thought made me a little sick to my stomach. Ick. ;)
Matching
I promise I will not be doing this when they start school...but it's just too cute when they are little girls. :)
Distance and Years
That is what separates us from our friends in Spokane, yet it is like no time has gone by.
We began our Spokane visit seeing my good girlfriend from college (my big sis in KD). We have chatted on the phone lately, but probably have not seen one another for over 10 years. We met up with her husband and three boys at a park for a few hours for play time and a visit. I have never met her husband or boys, and vice versa with her and Lance and the little ladies. How cool is it that it seemed like it had been no time since we had seen one another, and her husband and Lance chatted like they hadn't just met. Her boys are really the cutest...we have already set up her youngest, Wesley, with Eden. Arranged marriages are totally cool. Right?!
We saw our wonderful friends, the Lofstedts, for the rest of the weekend. It is the same with them - we haven't seen them for almost 2 years, yet it seems like it was just yesterday. Their kids and our's just blend and play so well together. Lilah is honestly like a mini-Olivia: girly, makeup, dolls, hair. Nolan is very intrigued with Lilah and Eden, commenting how cute they both are. And little Leo - such a doll. He is the gerber baby, but cuter! And of course we just so love them and the time we spend talking, laughing, and praying for one another. Hoping to get back over there this fall! Love to both of these sweet families!!!
A Few Blessings...
As we get older, I think our birthdays matter so much less. And we have kids and other priorities. And we just don't really matter, to be honest.
Dana and Julie (and Samson, of course) were sweet enough to spend my birthday morning with us having a birthday smoothie in the sunshine. It was really wonderful. Nothing too outstanding or extravagant, but actually so perfect. It truly is that they just took time from their day to spend it with me, enjoying a smoothie. :)
We went to dinner later to celebrate also...a beautiful night with beautiful friends.
A Fun Distraction...Check it OUT!
So, I haven't posted for over a month because I have been very distracted with my new venture - Stella and Dot! It was about this time an entire month ago that I went to my 3rd Stella and Dot trunk show. I first decided that I wanted to host my OWN trunk show to earn some free jewelry as I wanted to buy much more than the one necklace I purchased. To make a long story short, after some chatting with another stylist, Andrea, and a meeting, I was sold that I wanted to start selling S&D myself. Needless to say, my "blogging" time has been taken over with "Stella and Dotting" time (as my friend Julie calls it). I have been setting up trunk shows for others and good friends, watching videos and reading information to help me as a stylist, and buying jewelry to add to my collection to bring to trunk shows. I am so excited and I believe this is definitely right up my alley! Jewelry, styling, trendy looks, socializing...perfect. Here are some pictures that Julie took at my first trunk show (other than my own) at her house.
Let me know if you want to chat about a trunk show at your house - tons of fun with your lady friends and shopping for cute, stylish jewels!
