First Two Days of Preschool

I cannot even come close to believing that our daughter is going to school. Preschool, mind you, but school! She is going Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9-11:30. So far, she seems to really like it. Not surprising. She didn't even say goodbye to me as she walked in the classroom on the first day. Lilah is not at all sad to leave me, and is super excited to be there. And I have an obnoxious amount of pictures from the first day, and a few from the 2nd. I know, they are basically all the same, but so cute I had to post all of them.

Ballerina Cutie Pie

She was so excited...and so far she loves ballet. I will take a picture of all the girls when they have their "recital" because all these little 3-4 year olds in pink tutus is the cutest!

7 months!

Girls Weekend

The long awaited girls weekend - no kids, no hubbys - was...short. And I think we were all reminded that we are getting older, we are much more responsible, and a girls weekend is just not what it used to be. I'm not saying it wasn't wonderful. It was so great to be with a lot of my best girlfriends and to not have kids distracting us, or working around naps, tantrums, and their feeding schedules. We had lunch in Roslyn at this great little place that we sat out in what seemed like someone's back yard. We had an unexpected visitor (see all the pictures) that was very smelly and clearly had much too much to drink. Then we went to the place we were staying for some magazine reading and sitting in the sun. We went back to our room to snack and have some wine. I took a picture of our refrigerator because we had enough food and drinks for an army. I think a lot of the food was eaten, and most of the wine went back home with us. We were ready to go to bed at 9:30. Yes, 9:30. The sun and snacking got to us. I think we were all fast asleep by 11. Short but sweet. :)

Like Mama, Like Lilah

Pumping. That's what she sees at our house. :)

Family Ferry Ride

Lilah gets to see the ferry from afar all the time when she is with granny. Finally we made time on a Saturday this summer to go on a ferry ride from Edmonds to Kingston. It was a beautiful summer day in Seattle. Perfect. We stopped over there for a yummy lunch sitting outside and then had some ice cream before heading back. It was a really nice few hours. Eden did well and was mostly happy. Lilah loved riding on the ferry, eating at a restaurant, and having ice cream. All some of her favorite things. :)

Like Granny, Like Lilah

If you know granny (my mom) you will totally laugh at this picture...

2nd Annual Friends Camping Trip

Better late than never, huh!? Back in August, over a month ago (whoops) we went on our 2nd annual friends camping trip. We are lucky it even happened - working around 5 family's schedules, lots of babies, and summer is hard. Kjell's family didn't come this year because it was just too crazy, but we will hopefully have everyone back next summer. With some tenting and with babies and toddlers, I would say we did remarkably well. The kids slept as good as possible, the adults got a decent amount of sleep, and I think most had a great time. :) The kids all loved swimming - Lilah would stay in the pool all day if she could. And it was nice for all the little girls to get together. They all play nicely and really enjoy each other. Eden took decent naps and even slept pretty good at night. We got to stay up for awhile and play games too. I told the girls that give us 5 years (or a little more) and this will be much easier and probably way less stressful for the parents. But, the great thing is we are making memories and traditions for the kids, which is worth the craziness that camping is with children from 6 months to 6 years old.

Hubby and Me :)

He is pretty handsome :)

Granny's Birthday

Granny had her 36th birthday :) just last weekend and we celebrated with a dinner in the sun (no pictures...it was a little hectic with two little ones at dinner) and then cupcakes at granny's house. Her friend Ralph was in town from Indiana, so he joined in on the fun as well. We got cupcakes and Lilah could hardly wait for granny to blow out her candles, so beat her to the punch. ;) And then ate every drop of frosting off her cupcake, but left most of the cake. So her mother's daughter. In more ways than just that she loves frosting. Sigh...

6 Month Old Sweetie!

I cannot believe that Eden is 6 months old. I guess all parents say that as the years go by. Before I know it I'll be saying, "I can't believe Lilah is 16 and Eden is 13!". Yikes. Actually that thought made me a little sick to my stomach. Ick. ;)

Matching

I promise I will not be doing this when they start school...but it's just too cute when they are little girls. :)

Distance and Years

That is what separates us from our friends in Spokane, yet it is like no time has gone by. We began our Spokane visit seeing my good girlfriend from college (my big sis in KD). We have chatted on the phone lately, but probably have not seen one another for over 10 years. We met up with her husband and three boys at a park for a few hours for play time and a visit. I have never met her husband or boys, and vice versa with her and Lance and the little ladies. How cool is it that it seemed like it had been no time since we had seen one another, and her husband and Lance chatted like they hadn't just met. Her boys are really the cutest...we have already set up her youngest, Wesley, with Eden. Arranged marriages are totally cool. Right?! We saw our wonderful friends, the Lofstedts, for the rest of the weekend. It is the same with them - we haven't seen them for almost 2 years, yet it seems like it was just yesterday. Their kids and our's just blend and play so well together. Lilah is honestly like a mini-Olivia: girly, makeup, dolls, hair. Nolan is very intrigued with Lilah and Eden, commenting how cute they both are. And little Leo - such a doll. He is the gerber baby, but cuter! And of course we just so love them and the time we spend talking, laughing, and praying for one another. Hoping to get back over there this fall! Love to both of these sweet families!!!
