No Scrooges Allowed!
I know that so many people are against beginning Christmas anything before December 1st. I however am not in this camp. Actually if Lance would let me, I would probably have already got our tree. In my book, Thanksgiving is great in remembering what you are thankful for and getting together with good friends and family among a delicious meal. All wonderful things. However, it's really not a holiday like Christmas. I like all the commercial, man-created things for sure - the lights that brighten up these dark nights, the Christmas tree, the decorations, the presents, the shopping, the singing, Santa. But more importantly that we are celebrating the birth of Jesus, a little more significant than the pilgrims and native americans. Hence, the reason our blog is already in Christmas garb. And, that I have most of my Christmas shopping done. And, the reason why the first weekend in December we will be getting our tree and decorating it.

25 weeks
Yikes. I can't even believe that I am heading into the 3rd trimester already, more than half way there. So much to do, so little time. But so excited already to meet our 2nd little sweet pea.
Frosting is the Best
Both Lilah and I love cupcakes, and prefer to eat the frosting the most. It seems like when she has a cupcake she eats all the frosting first and leaves the bottom to throw away. I do the opposite (to save the best for last) and I have a hard time throwing any of a yummy cupcake away.
Last week we met Liz and the kids and Amy and her two boys at Cupcake Royale for cupcake decorating. It was a fun little outing - the kids got a cupcake and then got free reign of frosting bags and sprinkles galore. Needless to say, the cupcakes were beautifully decorated with a ton of frosting and LOTS of sprinkles. Delish!

Stages
I've been thinking a lot lately about life stages. Maybe it's a pregnancy thing that you reflect so much, or do a lot more thinking when you should be doing more important things like sleeping, showering, or working on my 128 projects. I was thinking about the fact that when Lance emails me or when he comes home from work our topic of conversation is always Lilah. Or it starts out with Lilah. When she was younger and we were struggling with napping and doing our sleep training, he always emailed me or we chatted about her napping. Since she's been eating solids (and not well mind you...she could really do without food), he asks me about how she ate that day. We go over her daily menu and how she ate her meals and snacks. And for the last few months since we began our potty training journey our main topic is poop. Did she poop today? Did she poop in the potty or in her pants?
So....the question is, what could we have possibly talked about before Lilah? I have no idea what we used to talk about and have no clue how people without kids fill that empty void that we fill with Lilah's bowel movements, food intake and sleep patterns.
I can only imagine what it'll be like when we have two...we won't ever talk about anything else but the girls.
