I Really Love Me a Little Shepa

I watched Shepa the other day while mama got to get a massage. It was such a pleasure. He is the happiest little guy. I was hoping for some good ole Shepa and Lilah time, but Lilah took an extra long nap and only got to play with him for about 15 minutes before Julie got back.
Shepa and I had fun though - we sang, bounced, he played and sucked on some of Lilah's old toys. I got to tickle his rolls and just squeeze on him.
When Lilah woke up to me holding Samson in her room she was so excited that she started jumping and squirming in her bed. She was very sweet with him - kissing and hugging Samson, sharing her toys, and trying to tickle him. They were so sweet I had to capture the moments. They are for sure going to be good buddies.

Sandbox

Our newest Craiglist purchase - a new, very used sandbox. Lilah loves it. Here's her first afternoon playing in there. I think that night she had sand in crevices we didn't even know she had.

Best Daddy

We celebrated Lance this year with a little scavenger hunt...well, Lilah was part of my little rhymes in the scavenger hunt. We also got him some new camping "stuff" since we're hardcore campers now. Lance and I will be continuing him being such a great daddy in August when we go to a Mariners game and Lilah spends the night with granny. It's a win-win: granny and Lilah have a ball together and Lance and I get a date night and sporting event to celebrate what a great husband and daddy we have. :) We also went to breakfast at Lance's favorite spot - Brown Bag, where their servings could feed a family of 10 (which for Lance is a perfect amount of food). Lilah and I so very thankful for him and what a fun, loving, playful, and sweet daddy he is.

Animals!

That's the word I heard from Lilah maybe 20 times on the way to Kelsey Creek park last week. We've been there a few times before. It has this great little toddler size park area and some animals - a gigantic pig, some goats, horses, sheep, bunnies and chickens. Lilah SO loves all animals, so she was excited to see them. We met up with a lot of the mamas and kiddos. I tried to get a group shot but we're missing a few that weren't having it. They're so funny how their personalities have developed and these kids are no longer babies - but little girls (yes, we had 9 little girls there, no boys).

Granny's Part II

Granny's house is definitely the most fun place on this planet (on Lilah's little planet at least). Granny has the best toys and also let's you do pretty much anything you so desire (ie: put on makeup and play the piano nice and loud). :) Granny even lets Lilah ride on her little bike that is actually a planter...but is the perfect size for a two year old.

Such a Blessing

I just recently was chatting with someone who told me how fortunate I am to have such great girlfriends. I do feel very blessed to have some of the greatest friends - some new and some that I've known for nearly 15 years.
Jackie, Emily and I got together for a little going away dinner and drink night before she headed back home to Atlanta. We had a great evening of laughing, joking, reminiscing, and a lot of smiling. What a gift it is to have friends that no matter the time apart or the miles between us that we pick up just like it was yesterday and our friendship only becomes stronger.

Lubed Up and Ready for the Sun!

One of our sunny days - all ready in her flip-flops, sunscreen, dress, and shades.

Summer 2011 Maiden Voyage

First of all, we are official trailer campers. We have just recently joined Thousand Trails which are private sites for members (or guests of members) only that have many amenities for the true trailer camper (ie: pools, mini golf, sport courts, scheduled activities, a store, etc).
So we made our first summer adventure in the trailer for Memorial day weekend. It was so much fun going with the family and spending time all together. Lilah slept real well and also had such a great time playing with Natalie and Kaden. We had fun relaxing, hanging out with everyone, making smores, and "throw wocks in wawa". :) Lilah loves the trailer and now points out all trailers that we see on the road and I think can hardly wait to go again. We head out this weekend to Leavenworth - and I'm excited to get on my swimsuit and spend some time in the pool and in almost guaranteed warm weather.

Picnics and Crayon Making

I have taken another loooonnnngg break from my blog. I'm hoping as I spend late on Saturday night starting to catch up that I still have a follower or two. ;)
I'm goin' way back to maybe late May.
Julie and Samson visited us on one of our few beautiful afternoons for a little picnic snack time in our front yard. It was one of my attempts to encourage my daughter to eat. But she was more distracted with her good buddy "Shepa".

A few days later, when the rain returned (sigh..) Lilah and I made new crayons from old, broken crayons. I got the idea from Jen in my PEPS group who had done this with her little girl. We melted the crayons in a muffin tin and then chose different candy molds to pour the melted crayons in to make new crayons in the shape of different foods and hearts. It was fun (except for the fact that we made a brown pretzel crayon that looks like a chocolate covered pretzel and Lilah has tried to eat it a few times....I don't blame her).
