We had a nice time while in Leavenworth with the Wileys. We had some yummy food in the beautiful weather while Glenn and Lana were camping there for the weekend. It was so nice to be all together and to see Lilah's great grandparents too (they live in Quincy so we don't see them too often). Our drive there and home...well, I won't even discuss that (other than to say it involved a little girl who does not like the idea of being contained anywhere for more than about 30 minutes, and quite a bit of crying and screaming). Luckily, we love her so much and when she is free to roam about is such a joy. I wish I had taken more pictures, but I get too distracted a lot so of course I only got a few of us taking a walk at the campground.

Just Another Day Smellin' the Flowers
Lilah loves all things pretty and girly - so she can't hardly keep her little paws off my hydrangeas. When we're playing in the front yard she expells a TON of energy climbing up and down the little step to our front door to touch and "smell" the flowers. Then she attempts to get the ones in the bark and points to my hanging basket of begonias. I spend my time watching her like a hawk, chasing her and being ready at any moment to save her from a fall on the concrete. How relaxing! :)
The New Summer Activity
Farmer's Markets! I've just went to two now (a SUPER small one in Juanita, and one in downtown Kirkland) and I've only bought some fruit. But, I love how fresh and yummy the produce is, and that it's usually at a decent price. My goal is to buy more there than at the grocery store.
Last week when we visited the small market in Juanita, it was so warm so we sat at this little park and had some yummy, homemade tangerine ice cream. Lilah loved running around and talking to the other families and kids hanging out. She is such a fun girl...I just find myself feeling so proud to show her off and smiling literally from ear to ear when I'm with her.

Ghetto Pools are the Best Kind of Pools....
Well, not really...but quite a catchy subject line. :) Our's is REAL ghetto because I can't fill it up too much because Lilah's already taken some nose dives in this water, so therefore the sides don't like to stay up. Maybe I should call it a trashy pool, rather than ghetto. Either way, it's not too pretty in our front yard. But, that kind of makes me laugh at least.
Partyin' in the Pool!
Luckily we started swim lessons this week and unlucky for the parents who chose to start them in June...yuck! Our summer has FINALLY arrived and it's just been so perfect for us. I would be crying every day if I didn't get these precious times with Lilah and had to work instead. Yesterday we had our first day of swim lessons. It was not much of anything (some singing and playing with water toys, and different holds for your baby in the water), but was just fun to get to be at the pool and hang out in the water. Since there were lessons in the entire pool, it wasn't so crazy like I'm sure a "free swim" would be. Lilah entertained the teacher and was usually the baby demonstrator. It was fun and Lilah enjoyed being in the water. When she got cold, we got out, got her all bundled up and sat and watched the other kids and she ate snacks. After Lilah's nap, we went to Liz and Clara's condo pool and met Jen, Leah and Noelle there for an afternoon swim. Such a difference from our lives last year at this time. Now just to get into the pool is an event (swimsuits, sunscreen, hat, toys, snacks). The cleanup was hilarious - snacks of all kind all over the place and 3 soggy swim diapers. I bet the young girls that were hanging out at the pool hated it when the 7 of us showed up! :) It was a wonderful day to start our summer of fun pool times. After Lilah naps this afternoon I'm hoping to put out and fill up her ghetto plastic pool for some front yard pool fun. More pictures to come!
4th of July: Sparklers and Scrooges!
We went to Edmonds to celebrate the 4th with my family (minus the hubby who was at home sicky). My mom, Mandi, Lilah and I went to the little parade, which was fun. Lilah liked the balloons that were flying around and the doggies best. She is such a little trooper at things like that too. I watched a boy around her age have a complete meltdown as soon as him and his parents got there, while my sweetheart waved and smiled at everyone, and "ooh"ed at everything. She just hung out in the stroller and then got out and watched the parade with Auntie Mandi. We then went back to my mom's (granny's) for a bbq with the family. My little zombie had been awake since about 11, but like I said, is such a little trooper. Just walked around like a drunken sailor, but was all smiles and laughs.
That night Lance went to bed super early since he was still feeling pretty icky, and your's truly (aka: fireworks scrooge) went to bed at 9:00. I had so much anxiety and anger about all the loud fireworks that I couldn't stand it. I was so worried they'd wake my sleeping beauty that I just had to head to bed. Such a party pooper. Maybe I'll change my outlook when Lilah can stay up a little later and watch and participate in the fireworks (but most likely I won't).
Happy 30th to Auntie Mandi and until our crazy neighbors started going crazy with their M80s, it was a great time with family!
The Week From H-E-Double Hockey Sticks
I'm not going to talk a lot about last week because it was so very horrible, but thought I'd have some sort of explanation for not keeping up on my blog entries. :) On Monday night/Tuesday morning Lilah woke up in the middle of the night and Lance went in to find vomit everywhere - in her hair, on her face, all over her pjs and sleep sack, all over her sheets, on her bumper, all over. We were calm but inside frantic. Lance put her in the bath (where she vomited two more times) while I frantically took everything off her bed to get it in the wash and was waiting for a call back from the on-call nurse from our ped. To make a long story short, she only threw up off and on for the next three hours or so, but that meant we were both pretty much up all night with her and worried sick ourselves. It's so sad to see a little one who can't tell you anything in pain and hurting like that. The next few days she didn't throw up anymore, but didn't eat much and was still not acting too great. But we got past it and moved on....until I got sick Thursday and Friday, and then Lance got sick Saturday and Sunday. Lovely for his long weekend and lovely for a stay-at-home mama. It's hard to take care of yourself when you feel like that, let alone a baby. Although I wouldn't say I did an awesome job...I mostly had the tv on in the background while Lilah played on the floor. Luckily she does pretty good playing by herself, as long as I'm around. :)
Thankfully we are all better and I'm just so happy that it happened during our yucky weather and not this week when it's so beautiful (although Lance did miss out on all the 4th of July festivities). Alright...onto more happy topics....
