On Sunday we had our annual Friends Thanksgiving at Jackie and Chris'. All the kiddies were there (the oldest is Gwen and she's 2 1/2 and the youngest is in utero!) and the day that could have been chaotic was pretty mellow and great. Everyone made the best food - mmmmm (although not good when you're trying to be in summer clothes and swimsuits in 4 days). It was nice for all of us to get together and it's so funny now with all these kids (5 total, with one on the way in June). Most of these girls are college friends and I've known them all for about 12+ years....so great that we've stayed in touch and have stayed so close.

Thanksgiving Came Early This Year
Fall Fun
Lilah is so funny...these pictures make me laugh because she is a rolling machine! She can sit up on her own (with a few topples over still), but really would rather roll and roll and roll all over the room. I found her under the coffee table the other day and had to get the shots to prove it. She also can hardly keep her eyes open for pictures, I guess my flash is too bright. For every one good picture I get 10 with her eyes closed. :)
And, are those not the cutest buns EVER!?! I had to sneak up on her the other day and just get a few pictures of just her buns....so pinchable!!

Like a Fish in the Water....Not So Much
Today was our first time ever in a pool. We went with the PEPS mamas to the Redmond Public Pool in the nasty, pouring-down rain....luckily it's an indoor pool. Lilah lasted 40 minutes which I thought was pretty amazing for her first time. The water wasn't that warm (I guess I expected bath water) and she was a little sleepy already starting off. But, she did fine and put up with bouncing and moving around in the pool. I think she liked this old woman that was hanging out around us the most, or when I would hold her on the edge of the pool and "boo!" at her. It was a good intro to the water before Mexico next week...and hopefully she'll do a little better because it'll be warmer there too, and hopefully she'll be well rested. I told myself that if she takes a good 2 hour nap after our pool outing, then we might have to make this part of our weekly events. ;)

Who Would Guess The Vacuum Is So Scary?!
Let me take you back to 4-5 months ago....our baby was soothed by white noise sources. The ultimate to make her stop crying was to bounce on the exercise ball while running the hairdryer. Yep, in the middle of the summer that's what we did. And yes, at 1:00 in the morning, that's what we did, and it worked. I would sometimes put her in my sling and vacuum to get her to fall asleep.
So, now at 6 months old, Lilah is deathly afraid of these same things that soothed her before. Running the vacuum makes her immediately stiffen up and pout out her bottom lip....and then the tears start flowing. Actually just me taking out the vacuum makes her stop in her rolling tracks. She does not like the hairdryer anymore, and our little dust buster...no way. These noise makers are super scary and also part of our every day lives (we have so many needles I need to vacuum every day; when I sweep our needle filled floors, I pick it up the dirt with the dust buster; if I don't dry my hair, it's frizzy and very nasty).
Hopefully some day she'll get over her fears and get used to these once soothing household items.

Photo Shoot at the Neudorfer House!

The good news is that we got the most beautiful pictures of Lilah when we went over to Kristin and Noelle's for a mini photo session. Kristin has this great camera and I saw some of her amazing photos of Noelle and pretty much begged her to take some of the same pics of Lilah. So we used all of Noelle's clothes and accesories to take some pictures. I stayed for a little longer for some coffee and chatting. It was a fun little outing and I am so in love with the pictures....they'll be on our wall in a few days!
The bad news is that now I want a camera like that. The REAL bad news is that her camera is $800 and Lance's comment was, "...we want to live...." and then, "you could save up your money from work to buy one...". So, guess we won't be getting one of those for awhile.
My plan is to bribe Kristin in a few months to take more photos with coffee or wine or some quality time with your's truly. heehee...
