Double Jogger Training

Day #2 of training - 3 miles doesn't sound like much unless you already did an hour long cardio/bootcamp class earlier in the day and during your three miles you're pushing around 2 children in a jogger. But, thankfully I had Dana's company and a little window of sunshine. And, I'm blessed to be able to be at home and do all of this with my two ladies.

Fly Baby

Question: What do Eden and I do when Lilah has a sleepover with granny?

Answer: Workout

I know, it is a little crazy. What do I not do that I should be doing? Relax, nap, do all the things that with a toddler are difficult or impossible to do. If I had to choose a "hobby" that is my favorite activity, it would be working out. A little nuts, but true. So, when Lilah is gone Eden and I go to Fly Fitness and take a class. She so wonderfully sleeps (I think she is lulled to sleep by the loud music and activity) and I get a great workout in with one of my very favorite instructors. :)

Picture of the Day - Day 1

Bath time for little Eden today. Big sissy always has to "help", which is not very helpful. :) But thankfully our mellow younger child is totally fine hanging out and is pretty relaxed during bath time.

Easter Eggs

We dyed Easter eggs today - fun stuff. And Lilah is old enough now to understand what's going on, and want to do it all herself.

Date Day with J. Much

Julie and I had a date yesterday - a little wine tasting, a few snacks, a lot of laughing, chatting, catching up, and having some great girl time. I am so thankful for her and her friendship...

Copycat

Clearly I have slacked on the blog. I think about it often but then think of the many other more important things I should be doing (ie: laundry, working out, eating, sleeping, watching reality tv, reading, nursing a baby, tending to a toddler, etc).
Julie and I had a date (picture in the next post) and did a little wine tasting and a lot of chatting, laughing, and good ole girl time. She told me that her goal is to take a picture a day for her blog, and I decided if I can do that, keeping up on the blog might not be too overwhelming.
So, instead of going back through the last month, I'm going to post some pictures we've taken and then start my daily pictures with yesterday. :) Thanks Julie for the idea, and hopefully she (and others) keep me accountable. I'm hoping this will also be a good way to tell our story. It's like a challenge for me now, and I like to win all challenges.

Long Overdue

This blog post, not our newest addition. She decided to come into this world a lot sooner than expected. Actually about 2 1/2 weeks early. Her sister was induced at 41 weeks, which I was thinking was going to be the same story for Eden. We had our 37 week appointment the day before she was born. I had the doc check me and I was only 1 cm dilated. So, I was fully planning on waiting another 3 1/2 weeks to be induced. She had other plans though. :)
I woke up Wednesday morning and did my usual morning "routine". Got dressed into my workout gear to head to the gym later, made coffee, checked email. When I went to the bathroom I noticed a teeny bit of blood when I wiped and felt like I was "leaking" quite a bit. However, I was in denial thinking that I was just having some wishful thinking.
After I changed my underwear 3 times I emailed Jackie and told her I was pretty sure my water had broken. I think she thought I was crazy that I had not called the doctor yet and was telling her this over email. After a few hours of this I called the doctor, left a message, and called Lance to tell him that I was pretty sure my water broke. I told him not to head home yet since I wasn't having any contractions and although I knew we'd be heading to the hospital, I didn't know how soon.
When I finally talked to my doctor's nurse, she told me to go ahead and pack the bags, get my mom over to get Lilah and head to the hospital with the hubby.
I frantically tried to pack us up, get some laundry done, get stuff organized around the house.
We headed to the hospital around 11ish, still no contractions and about 4 1/2 hours after I felt like my water had officially broke.
To spare you of all the boring details, and also so that my dear cousin Brooke doesn't do some "vom" while she's reading this, I'll give you the bare bones of my birth story. :) Once I got to the hospital they started the pitocin to get my contractions started and then my doctor decided to again do the foley balloon. Brooke - again, I'll spare you the details....but just know it doesn't feel good and the balloon is supposed to help you dilate. It's lovely. That seemed to take awhile to get me to get to 4 cm, and my contractions were much stronger this time around. Once I got the balloon out and I was around 4 cm, I got the epidural. And I was very happy to have it. After that though, everything went by really fast. I went from about 4 cm to 10 cm in just a few hours. In less than 10 minutes of pushing, little baby Eden was born. 20 inches long, 6 lbs 9 oz, and tons of beautiful blonde hair like her sister.
Here are some pictures from our first few days with sweet Eden.
